People always ask how I can possibly shoot newborns, and honestly, it’s not easy. & I don’t even attempt classic newborn photography. I have always had a “lifestyle” approach when it comes to newborn sessions, but it suits me and my style! I do it for many reasons, but right there at the top of the list is the feeling of being welcomed into someone’s home and feeling that sense trust that is given to me as the photographer. I love when Mom hands me the baby, and I get to cradle those sweet smelling little bundles and try my best to work some magic. Babies can be messy, and life can be crazy with little ones, but it is always my goal to capture all of that new magic, just how it is. Real, raw, and wonderful.

Today, it helped that I knew mom & dad. I went to school with them, and shot their wedding, and felt like family when the doors opened and we got to business. Little Owen had “the” baby smell. He was so perfect. Even on a day like today where he wanted to be awake and held more than sleep, I still feel like Kelsie + Kyle have these authentic memories to cherish, and I am glad and honored that it was me that got to do that for them!

Kels, I just love him, really I do! & Kyle, you are a lucky, lucky man to have these two!

Without further adieu, world, meet Owen Brock!
